the artist

Oscar was born in Monterrey, Mexico in February of 1980. While going to primary and secondary school in San Antonio, Texas, he played with a Yashica film SLR camera that his dad had and design programs that came on a used computer his parents purchased for him, unknowingly setting himself up for a bright future in graphic design, print publication and photography.

He graduated from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in 2000 with a degree in Bilingual Business Administration. After returning to San Antonio, Oscar worked for BCT (Business Cards Tomorrow) as a typesetter and worked his way into pre-press & lead graphics. While at BCT, Rumbo, a new Spanish newspaper was hiring designers to help launch it’s newspaper in San Antonio and Oscar was brought on board, allowing him to jump to the next level of layout design.

After a year, the company was struggling and Oscar moved to work with the Austin American Statesman’s spanish weekly newspaper, ¡ahora si! He was the graphics editor and won multiple awards between 2005 and 2011, designing both editorial and advertising.

Currently, he’s a consultant for a local sports magazine, shooting photography for various clients, graphic design for print/web and maintaining an exclusive decal business at modhawk.com.

With extensive knowledge in the print business and the web, Oscar will deliver the best results you can get when you need it most.
